Here at Vintage Vision we not only sell beautiful clothes but we also provide sewing workshops for everyone.
Would you like to restyle your clothes, save money, or just learn a new skill? If so why not join us on one of our latest series of sewing workshops? Held at our lovely vintage shop in Lion Street, Abergavenny, the classes run for 6 weeks in total, and we try and run both evening and day classes to suit everyone.
Each session is 2 hours long. With just 6 in a class, our tutor Emma will provide you with inspiration, skills, ideas, and a really good giggle! We have 6 brand new sewing machines, plus boxes of materials, clothes and trimmings to raid, all for free. The classes will give you a chance to meet and chat with other women and learn a bit more about what we do at Vintage Vision. And then you can call in and sew whenever you like.
The classes are suitable for complete beginners, as well as more experienced sewers. There is no charge for the classes but, as places are limited, we do ask for a small deposit (£5) to secure your place.

Workshops for Schools
We have run a number of workshops for young people, including one for a class for GCSE textile students, working on developing their portfolios on the theme of ‘ embellishment’. Led by our own experienced tutor, in partnership with their teacher, the pupils were able to get a real ‘ hands on’ experience in the shop, ( of which they had exclusive use) looking at all the clothes, trying some on, rummaging through the materials we have in the workshop, talking about the styles and techniques used in vintage clothing, doing some practical work, and generally having a fabulously creative time!
