What is swishing?
These are held in the evenings, and are very popular. We will be holding some swishing evenings in both Abergavenny and Blaenavon, and tickets will be available in advance from either shop. If you don’t know much about swishing, read our guide below. Your ticket price of £5 includes a glass of wine, lots of giggles, and a chance to meet old and new friends in our lovely shops. Plus, of course, some great new clothes in your wardrobe!
Thursday 25th August 7pm - 9pm at the Blaenavon shop, join us for our first Blaenavon 'swishing' night. Tickets are free, just bring up to two items of quality clothing or accessories to swap.
Your guide to Swishing…
The art of Swishing involves getting together to swap gorgeous clothes, to save some money, and to reduce the amount of clothes sent to landfill. Once you have bought your ticket, you will need to bring along two items of good quality clothing (NOT VINTAGE) that you don't love any more. In exchange we will give you a glass of wine and nibbles and two vouchers. You then have an hour to browse the rails, try things on, and decide which 2 items you’d like to take away. Once the swish is declared officially open, grab the items you want and exchange them for your vouchers….easy!
We have had some amazing clothes at previous swishing events, with lots of great labels such as Per Una, Monsoon, Paul Costelloe, Coast and Hobbs. It’s a really fun social event and a great way to save money. We take all our own stock off the rails for the swishing evening, so the whole shop is given over to items available with your swishing vouchers. It’s a luxury shopping experience at a bargain price…how can you resist?!
